How to Eat Delicious French Food -- and Lose Weight!

Now that the holidays are over, many of us think we have to eat like sparrows to lose weight.

Think again! I've lost 17 pounds over the past two months while still eating traditional French food -- including homemade "Foie Gras."

If you want to learn about some of my cooking tips for losing weight, be sure to tune into my KWMR spot on Mondays on 1/10 and 1/24 at 9:30 am on KWMR (www.kwmr.org). I have a slot every other Monday at that time, so listen in, as I love to share my recipes handed down through the generations from my mother and grandmother who have been living just outside Paris in my native France since the 1800s!

One of my favorite meals to help me lose weight and cleanse during these cold months is a Leek soup without potatoes -- yet is still thick, rich and satisfying. I also have beef stew that is low in carbs, but rich in vitamins, fiber and  taste. A great satisfying meal that fools you into believing that you are king or queen.

Of course, if you do want to indulge and pamper yourself, I am your trusted guide. I love to show people how they can tantalize their taste buds, soothe their souls while also enriching your health.

Did you know that champagne is the lowest calorie alcohol option? Let's raise a toast to celebrate this fact -- but just one glass of the bubbly if we want to stick to our diet.

Hope your 2011 is off to a good start, and let KT's Kitchen help make your year a special one.

Overweight people tend to think that they should stop thinking about food. I am a firm believer that they have totally missed the point; you do not need to stop thinking about food. Rather, you need to learn to allow yourself to think about food in a different way which allows you to savor and enjoy it, take your time eating and feel fully satisfied as you detect it different textures and flavors.
